The image shows the windmill from a gentle perspective, looking up from a rocky coastline enhanced by a backdrop of soft sky. The Old Windmill in Prescott is a historic site, known today as the Battle of the Windmill National Historic Site. In 1838, it was the location of a significant battle during the Upper Canada Rebellion, where British troops and local militia fought against an invasion by American sympathizers. The windmill was later converted into a lighthouse, illuminating the region's maritime heritage. "The Old Windmill Prescott, Ont." is visible in the bottom left corner, and the photo is marked "4617A" in the bottom right corner. No individuals appear to be identifiable in this photo.
