About the photographer from internet sources: Jean Giletta was born Jean-Baptiste Gilletta in Levens, Fterance 1856. Said to have been under the tutelage of photographer Jean-Auguste-Theodore Walburg de Bray in the 1860s and 1870s. It is assumed that many of the images attributed to de Bray were realized by Giletta. He operated his won studio by about 1880 at some point dropping the "Baptiste" and and "L" from his name to become Jean Giletta. In 1897 he entered the publishing business, producing thousands of photographic images made into postcards and reproduced in publications. For this time period, he partnered with his brothers Joseph and Francois as the Giletta Brothers (about 1897-1926) with Jean retiring around 1926. He died in 1933. His works can be found in the Musee d'Orsay; Theatre of Photography, Nice; and the Alinari Archive, Florence, Italy. Thank you for your interest!
