Denkmal des Grossen Kurfürsten Date: 1883 Medium: Cabinet Card, printed mount Size of Image: na Size of Mount: 6 5/8 x 4 ¼ inches Condition: Medium tonal image, light rubbing/soiling front/back, light rubbing and bumping to corners/edges. Other: Early view of the equestrian statue of King Frederick I of Prussion the Great Elector by Andreas Schluter at the front of the Charlottenburg Palace, Berlin. Photographer and publisher Sophus Williams (1835-1900) was born Sophus Vilhelm Schou in Copenhagen . He went to London in 1859 then later to Berlin around 1869 where he took ownership of the firm of E. Linde & Co. During the 1870s, he made portraits of the royalty and views of the Berlin region as a member of the Berlin photography club where he worked close with J.F. Stiehm.
