Other: Early view of the Brandenburg Gate, the entry of the boulevard of Linden . It suffered major damage during WWII with recent restoration completed in 2002. Photographer and publisher Sophus Williams (1835-1900) was born Sophus Vilhelm Schou in Copenhagen . He went to London in 1859 then later to Berlin around 1869 where he took ownership of the firm of E. Linde & Co. During the 1870s, he made portraits of the royalty and views of the Berlin region as a member of the Berlin photography club where he worked close with J.F. Stiehm.
