Alec Rose was a British grocer turned sailor, famed for his unassisted circumnavigation in the yawl "Lively Lady." His remarkable journey, completed on a shoestring budget, spanned 354 days and covered 28,500 miles. His achievement inspired many and earned him a knighthood from Queen Elizabeth II.
